The restorative services provided by Dr. Smith and Dr. Carrell can replace missing teeth for a strong, functional, and radiant smile. When the time comes to replace a missing or damaged tooth, we invite you to choose from among the following dental restorations:
- Implants replace the crown and root of a missing tooth to provide lifelong stability for your smile. Dental implants utilize titanium screws that our dentists surgically attach to the jawbone before adding a cosmetic dental crown on top. These restorations are designed to look and feel like your natural teeth.
- Bridges comprise of three basic components: the replacement tooth or teeth and two dental crowns on each side. Our dentists may recommend a dental bridge to replace one or more missing teeth in a single area of your mouth. The attached dental crowns will be placed on neighboring teeth while the replacement tooth is suspended between and cemented into place.
- Partials are another excellent option for replacing large sections of missing teeth. They consist of replacement teeth attached to synthetic gum tissue. The metal framework contains clasps or connectors that attach to your surrounding teeth for stability. Partials can also provide support to the cheeks and lips to prevent sagging.
- Dentures are the only dental restoration that can provide a full set of teeth for the upper and lower arches. Many types of dentures are available, including conventional, immediate, and overdentures. Our dentists would be delighted to help you choose the right style for your smile.
